Why Choose Us?

We strive to provide the best possible care to our “family” of patients. Doctors Blackhurst, Larsen, and Sorge's small town roots show through in the way they treat each patient like family, from babies to adults, wanting nothing but what is best for each patient’s situation.

Our staff all stay up-to-date with the newest and latest in technology, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. The oral systemic connection is important, and to help our patients achieve the best health possible is always our goal. We are all excited to meet you and hope you will be happy with the service you receive at our office!

Dr Larsen (dentist) and staff took a lot of time to make sure my kids had a great experience getting their cavities filled. The dentist and staff were friendly and patient too. Probably the best experience so far for my kids. Will definitely be going back to him. Thanks again!

Courtney decided her junior year of high school that this was the career path she wanted to take. A church youth leader was a hygienist and told her what she loved about it. It’s a blessing to Courtney to be able to help people. She loves to bring out others self confidence and enjoy their own smile. Helping patients and friends see the connection between their overall health and the health of their mouth is always an accomplishment. She went to school at Utah Valley University and then transferred to the Utah College of Dental Hygiene to get her bachelors in dental hygiene in 2014. After graduating she moved to California and worked in Irvine and Huntington Beach. She enjoyed going to Disneyland and the beach and making new friends there.

She came back to Utah and started working here in February 2017. She enjoys working alongside Dr. Larsen and the other staff members in helping treat our patients with the best care possible.
Courtney grew up in Chandler, Arizona. She has tried many sports from ballet, soccer, dance, cheerleading and figure skating. There were lots of lakes around so she also did water skiing and pretty much anything behind a boat. Growing up with three brothers she has grown to love watching sports as well. She loves being around friends and family and enjoying their company. To her it’s less about what you’re doing and more about who you are with.

Cassidy has been a dental hygienist with Fort Union Family Dental since November 2019 and she loves the family environment in the office.  She has been working in the dental field since 2014 and loves the relationships she builds with patients and their families. She attended Brigham Young University Idaho and then transferred to the Utah College of Dental Hygiene where she completed her Bachelors of Dental Hygiene degree in 2018.

Having grown up in Oregon, Cassidy loves the outdoors and spends most of her free time hiking, camping, running, and traveling. She loves southern Utah and exploring national parks throughout the country. If she’s not outdoors enjoying nature, she’s spending time with family, friends, and loved ones.

Emma grew up in Alpine, UT. From about 7th grade she decided she wanted to be a dental hygienist because she loved seeing her dental hygienist and having her teeth cleaned.

She began her college education at Utah State University where she received an Associate of Science degree, then transferred to Salt Lake Community College and completed an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene, then earned her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene at Utah Valley University.

She has been practicing as a registered dental hygienist since May of 2019 and began working at Fort Union Family Dental in May of 2021.

Emma’s favorite part about being a dental hygienist is building relationships with patients and helping them feel comfortable and confident in a dental office setting. She wants patients to feel empowered and capable of having great oral health.

While she is not working, she loves to mountain bike, dirt bike, and work on home-improvement projects as well as spend time with her family.

Kaysie graduated with her Bachelor’s in Dental Hygiene in April 2021 and has been a hygienist with Fort Union Family Dental since May 2021. She attended Brigham Young University Idaho prior to transferring to the Utah College of Dental Hygiene. Before attending dental hygiene school she worked as a dental assistant from 2018-2019. Working as an assistant developed her passion for dentistry and inspired her desire to become a hygienist. Her favorite part of being a hygienist is getting to know patients individually and helping them improve their smiles and simultaneously their health.

Kaysie grew up all along the west coast, in Washington, Oregon, and California. She loves hiking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Amy was born in Provo, Utah. She went to the American Institute of Medical and Dental Tech. Amy moved out to Taylorsville, Utah and met her husband and they have been married for 25 years. They have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. She loves being in the dental field because she gets to help take care of and get to know our patients.

When Amy is not working she enjoys spending time with her family and does hand-stamped jewelry.

Shelby has been a dental assistant for 7 years, she has been with Dr. Bowen for years. She started at Fort Union Family Dental in November 2019 when we joined our practices. Her favorite thing about being an assistant is helping patients get a mouth of full functioning teeth in addition to that a confident smile.

When she is not at work you can find her reading, cooking, watching TV and movies, hiking, going to the gym, and playing games with friends. She likes to travel and has been to Germany. Shelby is a clean freak and has had a passion for dentistry since elementary school.

Lee-Ann was born in Suva, Fiji Islands. She lived in New Zealand, and Fiji before migrating to Los Angeles, CA in January, 2007. She moved to Salt Lake City, UT in April, 2010 after she met her husband, Darrin online. They married in 2011 and she moved to Roosevelt, Utah where she switched careers from the Aquarium industry and got her start in the dental field working for Dr. Todd Larsen as Office Manager in October, 2011. After Dr. Larsen sold his practice in Roosevelt, she continued to work for him on a part time basis until he purchased Fort Union Family Dental. Lee-Ann continues to work for Dr. Larsen on a remote basis and is now the Operations Manager.

Her favorite part of the job is the diversity of her responsibilities and finding more efficient ways to improve the practice. Lee-Ann has many creative pursuits she enjoys; these include sewing, painting, knitting, music, cooking and traveling; and tending to her chickens and her entitled cat in Roosevelt. (Something you don’t know about her: she used to sing part time in different bands in New Zealand and Fiji, and did jingles, and voice overs in Fiji).

Outside of work she loves watching her nieces and nephews and having family over on the weekends.
